Schools No. 18 & 19 – Nurturing Dreams, Lighting Up the Nation’s Future

Right from the early days of 2025, TOTO Vietnam has continued to advance its CSR activities by supporting the dreams of children in remote mountainous areas to go to school.
On February 19–20, 2025, the inauguration ceremonies of two new schools — Coc Lau Commune Kindergarten (Bac Ha District, Lao Cai Province) and Hong Hin Branch of Muong Chum Primary School (Muong La District, Son La Province) — were held, marking another step in TOTO Vietnam’s journey of spreading love and compassion with its partners.

Due to the devastating impact of Typhoon Yagi that swept through Northern Vietnam in September 2024, both schools suffered severe damage. Coc Lau Kindergarten (Lao Cai) had to be dismantled due to its precarious location on a hillside, while Muong Chum School (Son La) was no longer deemed safe for students and required upgrades. After three months of maintenance and reconstruction, both schools now boast a fresh, spacious, and more modern look. From now on, the journey to school for the children — and the work of their teachers — will no longer be overshadowed by safety concerns, but filled instead with a safe educational environment, lively classrooms, and playgrounds echoing with children’s laughter.
Life in many areas of Son La and Lao Cai remains challenging, and the path to education is still full of obstacles. Improving school infrastructure plays a vital role in nurturing the love of learning in children and contributing to the nation’s development.

The completion and restoration of these two schools have brought immense joy not only to the students but also to families in the villages of both provinces. The first days following the Lunar New Year of 2025 became particularly meaningful, marked by the excitement of students as they stepped into their newly refurbished schools.
This effort also inspires children to love going to school, enables teachers to teach more effectively, and gives local villagers hope for a brighter future for the next generation.
Alongside the inauguration ceremonies, TOTO Vietnam organized a cultural exchange program as a gift of joy and encouragement for the students and local residents. The program featured performances by piano prodigy Nguyen The Vinh and singer Nguyen Minh Huyen, who delivered heartfelt musical performances.
Mr. Vu Trong Thuy (Drybody & Glazing 1 Department), a native of Lao Cai, shared his emotions:
“As a member of TOTO Vietnam, I am incredibly proud of our school-building journey. After this trip, I feel even more motivated to contribute further, helping the company bring more schools and love to children across the country.”
Mr. Mui Duc Thien (Machining & Polishing Department) expressed his pride:
“Seeing the newly built schools with my own eyes gave me even greater faith in TOTO Vietnam’s CSR mission. These schools not only offer children a safe learning environment, but also allow parents to work with peace of mind and invest in their family’s future. For me, it was a memorable and meaningful experience.”
Singer Nguyen Minh Huyen shared:
“This was such a special journey—not just because of the places we visited, but because of the invaluable lessons and experiences gained. I feel lucky to have met such wonderful people, heard inspiring stories, and felt the warmth of the school inauguration team. I truly hope to have more opportunities to accompany TOTO Vietnam and contribute to such meaningful philanthropic efforts.”
